Ice Cream Around Australia - Coffs Harbour Take 2

Being back in Coffs Harbour gives is the opportunity to do some of the things we didn't do the last 2 times we were here.. Like try new ice cream flavours at different ice cream shops. Its such an important job and Little miss and I are up to the task. I will be updating this post as we visit new ice cream shops and trying new flavours. By the time we leave Coffs Harbour I'm hoping we will have had the opportunity to try lots of different flavours.

First up when we visited THE HONEY PLACE we tried some of their homemade ice cream. Little miss did go for a paddlepop but I ended up picking the honey and honeycomb flavour. This was seriously the most delicious honey ice cream I have ever tasted. It had these wonderful little crunchy pieces of honeycomb. I would highly recommend visiting The Honey Place even if it's just for the ice cream

Flavours we tried:

  • Honey and Honeycomb

While we had some blue sky we visited the Village takeaway in Sawtell, walking distance from the caravan park. Not a lot of flavours to choose from but still delicious. The kids size cones ($4 each) are huge for kids size. I'm sure being so close will give us the opportunity to try a few different flavours.

Flavours we tried:

  • Salted caramel
  • Lemon Sorbet

After wandering around the mall waiting for my phone screen to be repaired I promised little miss that we could get ice cream. She was really patient. Off to Ridgy Didge in the food court to get ice cream. Surprisingly no one else was getting ice cream. We love ice cream so much that we can get them every day. They were so delicious.

Flavours we tried:
  • Watermelon
  • Fig and marscapone

Our walk up MUTTONBIRD ISLAND was complete with ice cream from Eric and Debs Homemade Ice Cream. There were heaps of flavours to choose from and they had plenty of different waffle cones. Jamie had a sprinkle waffle cone (he shared some with little miss) and I had just a plain waffle cone.

Flavours we tried:

  • Ferreo Rocher
  • Snickers
  • Swiss Chocolate

An overcast and rainy day doesn't deter us from looking for ice cream, and we were on the hunt in town. It was a little trickier finding Sotto Zero Gelato (it's inside the mall) but we did eventually find it. There was no way we were missing out (plus I'd promised little miss and you just don't go back on that kind of promise). It was hard to decide which one to try so we will have to go back again to try a few more flavours.

Flavours we tried:

  • Mango
  • Sour Cherry

When given the choice as to which ice cream shop little miss wanted to visit, she automatically picked one we hadn't been to. Cold rock was the choice for an afternoon treat after a play at the playground. I loved that you could pick and choose what flavours you wanted to mix. It was hard to decide who picked the better flavour, we ended up sharing both of them.

Flavours we tried:
  • Strawberry with fruit tingles
  • Turkish Delight with tim tam

After our trip to the GRAFTON SHOW we decided to stop in town for ice cream. These were the biggest ice creams we've ever had, bigger than the occasional double scoop. They were massive. We were going to have the same flavour and then little miss reminded me it was more fun to have different flavours so we could try them. Funnily enough we both ended up swapping ice creams and I ended up eating most of  both of them.

Flavours we tried:
  • Green apple sorbet
  • Mango sorbet
  • Tim tammy
