Little miss and I had really been looking forward to visiting the Butterfly house. Jamie decided to give it a miss and went into town, we didn't mind. We went through the butterfly house first, it was a green house like set up. Lots of water, heaps of planted and bucket loads of butterflies. It was pretty spectacular seeing them all flying around. It was also quite warm, so not sure how hot it would be to go through in the summer.
We slowly made our way through looking at the different butterflies and flowers. They had lots of signs up to remind people not to touch the flowers and well and not to catch the butterflies because it can damage their wings. A little girl walking behind us had a butterfly land on her and as soon as Little miss saw that she wanted one to land on her as well.
That didn't happen, mainly because she didn't stand still for long enough for one to come close. I did have an orchard swallowtail butterfly try and land on my top (I was wearing a bright blue, pink and purple flower top). The lady at the counter said that it was rare for a swallowtail to land on you, and that it was more often the orange lacewing butterfly.
We then walked through the bug room, little miss was more excited about heading to the gift shop to see what treasures there were there. After a quick stop for morning tea (the cafe wasn't in full swing at that point) before hitting the dinosaur path.
Little miss wasn't so sure about the robotic dinosaurs, they were really realistic, moving and making noises. I carried her through the first time and had to show her that they were pretend. After she realised they weren't real we went through a few more times. We sat on the grass and watched the dinosaur show (she talks a lot about Gerald).
We had a quick go through the maze, and surprisingly we made it into the centre even with my terrible sense of direction. Before heading home. If the cafe was up and running we could've easily spent half a day there. They had a big playground out the back of the cafe.
