It was handy staying at the Big 4 at Sawtell. Little miss and I often go on adventures on our own, it gives Jamie a chance to have a break from us. He's still adjusting to being around us so much all the time. One of those days was a trip to Bonville Headlands. I did decide it would be good idea to walk to the local Sawtell shops and get an ice cream before following the sign to the lookout. By the time we got back it was a good 3 km walk.
We were a little slow walking but that was probably more to do with the ice cream dripping all down Little miss's arm (yum chocolate). The path was easy to follow and up hill the whole way. It wasn't too bad of a walk, there was one section that was a bit steep but it took you right to the top. At the top it was pretty spectacular looking at the view. The waves crashing on to the rocks made me realise why it was so loud at night. At the lookout there were plenty of benches to sit on and have a look or places to take in the view.
You could see the surrounding beaches, as well as the creek. We went down the hill to the beach, they have an ocean pool at the bottom. We went around the corner and picked out our own little cove to play in the sand making sand cakes with honey biscuits.
The walk back was easier being all down hill, a very nice walk in all. We did visit it a few times while we were there.
