This week was supposed to be a quiet end to our stay in Sawtell, NSW before moving on to our next stop (if you missed our Week 4 Recap). Of course it wasn't going to be as planned. We were supposed to be leaving on the Wednesday, so Tuesday was our pack up day. Jamie wanted to pack up everything but the roof of the annex but I stubbornly didn't want to. I did pack and sort bits and pieces but didn't get too far before the COVID 19 Incident.
The next morning we re positioned the camper trailer so it was on the slab properly (mainly because it freaked me out that it was just slightly off the slab and too high for me to use the kitchen). We packed it all the way down before setting it back up again (which was good practice). After our grocery delivery we settled for a few days vegging out. I have to admit it was very comfortable having an ensuite. We also let the next caravan park know about our delay in our booking and would keep them in the loop.
Finally after 3 days we got back a negative test result on the Friday, so we could continue with our move on Saturday. Little miss spent a long time on Friday enjoying the freedom of being able to go out of the camper trailer and painted rocks. She left them in the garden for the next people to enjoy. Again Jamie wanted to pack everything up the day before and I very much resisted. Instead I got up at 6.30 Saturday morning to pack everything into the car. We checked out at 10.05 am, I didn't want to admit it to Jamie but he was right we need to pack up the annex completely the day before we move to make it easier on moving day.
Our next stop was Evans Head, NSW. We stayed at the Reflections at Evans Head. We took a few days to settle in at our new caravan park. We had an ensuite site, up the beach end. It was really lovely and very comfortable having an ensuite site again. We also got a pretty good deal (it pays to be a member).
One thing we did notice was the drive into Evans Head is very bumpy (even without a trailer its bumpy). The caravan park is massive, there's sort of 2 ends one by the river and one near the beach, we were at the beach end. There weren't a lot of kids. At Sawtell the playground was open to the locals, and there were other kids staying at the park, but when we arrived at Evans Head it was very quiet by comparison.
Lessons we learned:
- Have a Covid 19 plan
- Be flexible
- Sometimes things won't go to plan
- Covid 19 sucks
- Pack up everything in the annex the day before
- I'm stubborn
- Signing up for memberships can save $$$
Places we visited:
- Local Shops
- Coffs Harbour Hospital
- Evans Head
