To See In NSW - Brunswick River

It was really good staying at Reflections Massy Greene, it was right on the Brunswick River. We visited the river every single day. It has a few little coves that are great for swimming with young children, and it was very popular with locals and people staying at the caravan park. 

There are plenty of people go out on the river on their boat. You can follow the river right up to the ocean, I saw many fishermen heading out up the river. Lots of people had kayaks, stand up paddle boards and wave riding boards.  There was a boat on the river that had kayak and stand up paddle board hire.  Little miss was lucky and got to have a ride on a kayak with the little friend that she made.  They had a great time riding back and forth in a little cove riding on the kayak.  Little miss didn't want to get off but in the end all the kids were soaked through (so much for not going in the water that day). 


There are plenty of pelicans up and down the river (always close by when cleaning fish), as well as many other birds.  There are a few water dragons but not that many.

The best part about Brunswick River? The fishing. There are heaps of different spots to catch a fish, and they were decent sized fish as well (only 1 was too small and got tossed back). You did have to watch the seagulls, they would go for your bait or fish, but can't blame them for trying.  

The worst part about Brunswick River? The oyster shells. There are everywhere, all over the boat ramp and along the rocks. We bought some aqua shoes from Bruns Beach Bait and Tackle for little miss and they really were the best investment every.  Little miss walked over oyster shells in her aqua shoes with no issue (obviously not recommended to do that).  Jamie however while fishing ended up with a few nasty cuts on his feet from the oyster shells. 

We have now invested in some aqua shoes for both Jamie and myself as well. It did get a bit windy on some days, but it's been windy up and down the coast
