To See In NSW - The Fairy Trail

Wow I have never been so impressed with the amount of effort put into such a fun and free activity.  If you're heading to Brunswick Heads and you have little ones who love fairies (who doesn't?) then this is the activity for you.  Head to the visitor centre on the main street (or you can find it online here) to get the clues to finding these beautiful little houses.  We spent many hours wandering the streets looking for and talking to the fairies we found.  The detail on these houses and the stories that went along side them made the magic all the more real.

Before heading out to see the fairies we had a talk about not touching any of the houses.  Of course the question of why came up (I hate that question).  After explaining that the fairies would be sad if someone broke their house she promised not to touch the houses. At some point she decided if she touched the houses the fairies would put a spell on her (I love her imagination), so then she warned anyone who came close not to touch.

We did have a few favourites, the post office fairy is amazing (just down the lane way with the post boxes) as well as Jojo the wildlife fairy for Little miss. My favourite was Freddy and Figgy's castle and Nanny Annie's house. We loved the Fiery fairy, police station and the fairy glade.

The first day we went, I didn't take any money with me.  The next time I made sure I did, and it was just a little dangerous.  The cheese at Eve the foodie fairies deli was amazing, Little miss loves cheese.  We picked up some fishing gear at Cap'n Pete's shop, as well as Little miss's aqua shoes (best investment). I loved Clem's cargo shop (with Clementina the recycling fairy) there were heaps of treasures in there.

We visited the fairies every chance we had, Little miss even made her own little fairy play ground in the tree behind our site.  She loved when the fairies visited her and left her a little treasure.  Seeing her eyes light up when the fairies visited her is the most wonderful thing to see (I'm sure all parents feel the same).

We really felt that Brunswick Heads was a magical place to visit!
