To See In NSW - Solitary Islands Aquarium

This is an amazing aquarium. It's only open on weekends, and you do need to book your spot (for Covid numbers). It's completely worth it and I'd love to take little miss back again. I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area. They said it got pretty busy in the school holidays and limit each session to 30 people. There were 5 altogether in our session.  The session runs for 1.5 hours.

We got a sheet to look for different animals, got to see fish being fed and there was a lot of interactive stations to play at.  They have some amazing fish, we loved looking at them all.  Upstairs they had a speed boat and another with a steering wheel, Little miss played for ages. They had a touch pool and we could touch all the animals and feel the shells in the water (the staff were really friendly and very knowledgeable). They also had a big table that had shells, shark eggs (weird looking), rocks, sea sponge and all sorts of different things to feel and play with.  Little miss loved this.

They had a lot of information about the Solitary Islands (located off Coffs Harbour) and the animals that live there as well as how to fish sustainably and keeping rubbish out of the water ways. They had a huge room that had a video on the East Australian Currant (thanks Finding Nemo) and Little miss spent ages watching the video.
