To See In NSW - Sydney Zoo

We bought a membership to the Sydney Zoo while living in Sydney (before Covid 19). It was really good value and gave us the opportunity to visit the zoo as often as we liked. Unfortunately Covid 19 did shut the zoo for a bit and by the time it opened again we were getting ready to head out on our big adventure. They extended the memberships because of Covid 19 so we got an extra 3 months of use which is great. Like with most places at the moment you do have to book online so they can make sure that numbers are adhered to.

This is a well set up zoo, it has lots of wide open spaces to view the animals in their enclosures. It's a shame they've stopped the keeper talks to avoid crowds because of Covid 19, because their keeper talks were really informative. 

We love the Australian animals, the Dingoes were really active which was nice to see. They had a lace monitor, I did giggle when I saw it. It reminded me of the LACE MONITOR INCIDENT. The koalas and wombats were fast asleep, but we didn't mind.

I love the reptile and nocturnal animals set up. It's amazing being able to see animals that are normally out at night. I think my favourite was the bilby. 

We picked an ice cream out at the cafe  and ate them by the camels and watched the tiger. The best part was little miss riding in the wagon. It kept her away from other people and people away from us. There were a few school groups going through so I'm glad I could keep her contained. 

We comfortably walked through the zoo in 2 hours. We had visited before so if it was our first time we would've allowed more time. They have a cafe and plenty of snacks available to make the visit easy.  There are also plenty of picnic tables if you bring your own picnic. 

They have an amazing gift shop, Little miss had a great time picking some treasures out.
