Week 17 Recap

This is our last few days before heading back to Sydney to get some much needed repairs on the camper trailer and visit family and friends (if you missed Week 16 recap). We packed in as much as we possibly could to make sure that we had an action packed week.

We visited the PORT MACQUARIE MUSEUM and learned all about the history and little miss found out about wells and toys in the olden days. I found it really interesting and could've spent longer reading the information.

We did lots of taste testing ice cream this week. We also did a bit of shopping, little miss was excited to spend some birthday money. We also picked out some delicious cupcakes raspberry cheesecake, lemon curd and apple pie. They were a little pricey but absolutely delicious and worth it.

We visited the MARITIME MUSEUM and I have to say the shell collection and model boats were a highlight for little miss. We had some windy weather so the plans for the camel ride were on hold.  So instead we went to SEA ACRES which was amazing. A little alone time for me taking in nature. I would do it again and again. We also got to spot a few koalas on the HELLO KOALA TRAIL.

I also took a few walks along the BREAKWALL in the evening, I even saw a sting ray jump out of the water. It was really weird and I didn't get a photo it was too quick. It looked like a massive pancake.

We finally got to have a LIGHTHOUSE BEACH CAMEL RIDES. It was lucky that we finally got some good weather we did it on what we would normally call pack up day. After the camel ride we went up to TACKING POINT LIGHTHOUSE, being so close it seemed like the obvious choice. We were treated to  dolphins swimming around the river while we are our ice creams, the perfect end to day.

I had so many choices for sunrise photos and GAOL POINT LOOKOUT  and FLAGSTAFF LOOKOUT didn't disappoint, history and beautiful views all rolled into one. I could've done it without the bugs, but where is my sense of adventure?

My last sunrise photo session was at OXLEY BEACH with the beach almost to myself. Plus I got to explore the rock pools and found an 8 legged starfish woohoo.

As we were packing up, it was a little sad but I also know little miss was missing our family so it was something she was really looking forward to. Little miss was so excited to go back to visit that she tried to smuggle a purse full of rocks. I only found them when I out her bag in the car and tipped them all out much to her disgust.

The trip back was long. Longer than we've been used to. We stopped for lunch at Heather Brae pies in Hexham. It was really busy. We even got to drive through the new north connex tunnel, it was amazing to drive through and worth every cent. 6 mins and we were through the tunnel instead of spending over half an hour on pennant Hills road.

When we got back to Nanna's house little miss was so excited to play with her toys and paint. She was so excited to see Nanna, and Nanna was just as excited to see her.

I had my first shower without thongs in 4 months, it felt dirty and weird. I think Nanna would've thought I was weird if I wore my thongs in the shower.also being inside a house was also dark and felt weird. I didn't realise how much I'd got used to being outside and how different it felt being back inside again. Not being able to feel the breeze and the aircon being so cold were big changes compared to what we were used to.

We had the huge job of taking everything out to reorganise, replace what we use regularly and remove what we didn't need. It felt good getting rid of stuff that was taking up the precious space we have.

We finished up the week with another PARTY for little miss. I hope she doesn't think this is a regular occurrence to have so many parties
