We are finally getting our camper trailer repaired (if you missed Week 17 recap). We take it out to drop it off, they need a few days to complete the repairs and we don't need it for the moment. I have to admit it did feel better being back in Jamie's truck towing the camper trailer rather than driving my car. It's amazing what you get used to.
Little miss had a great time playing at Nanna's house, playing with all the toys we left behind and most importantly Nanna. They played together a lot. Jamie and Nanna had a nerf gun fight in the house, little miss thought it was funny watching them running trying to shoot each other with the nerf bullets.
We did have some trouble with little miss adjusting to being back in a regular bed while staying with Nanna. It made bedtime just that bit trickier. Little miss had been used waking up and seeing us, and she has a double bed in the camper trailer. So it was a big adjustment to being in a room on her own and having a single bed.
We organised to make a trip back to Canberra and visit friends and family we haven't seen in ages. Little miss was missing her friends and couldn't wait to have a play with them. On the drive down we stopped at THE BIG MERINO in Goulburn. We lived in Canberra so had visited the big merino many times but it's a good half way point to stop. Especially important for me because I'm still getting used to driving again.
I did also have a moment. While packing little miss's clothes I put them all in a neat pile. When it was bedtime in Canberra I realised I didn't put her clothes in the bag. I left them in a neat pile back in Sydney. Lucky I was staying with my sister and she had bought her some clothes so we made do until I could buy her some at the shops.
It was great catching up with everyone in Canberra. It was a little disappointing that we couldn't see everyone, we had to cancel on a few people because they were sick. I hated to be that person, but we have no choice. We don't have a nice shiny house to self isolate in so it makes it very stressful and difficult for us. Everyone understood, but it was still disappointing for us.
My sister has her lights hooked up to Alexa, little miss caught on quickly and was adding things to the shopping list and turning lights on and off. It was super cute that she was calling it walexa, and saying thank you walexa, you have to say thank you mummy. I'm not sure she if she realised that she wasn't real. Jamie and I decided that we won't be having a walexa any time soon.
This was the how the conversation went while trying to put little miss to bed
LM: walexa turn on the light
Me: Alexa turn off the light
LM: walexa turn on the light
Me: Alexa turn off the light
Then I said la la la over the top of little miss in an attempt not to get the light turned back on again. My sister obviously heard us and came to rescue me by turning Alexa off. Little miss wasn't happy about that, she was having too much fun but walexa was broken in the bedroom at least.
My sister has 2 cats, little miss loved them so much while she was there. I think they were relieved when we went.
We had a few late nights (it wasn't worth fighting little miss to get her to bed on time) so on the way back to Sydney she was a little tired and we needed to stop a few times to keep awake. Day time naps are a disaster and not what we needed to add to the mix. We stopped at WEEREEWA LOOKOUT and stretched our legs. We also stopped at Franks Fruit Box in Sutton Forrest. Little miss picked out some cherries and mangoes, they were super delicious.
When we got back to Sydney I found the pile of clothes that I forgot to pack ops.
While Little miss and I were in Canberra, Jamie went camping with his friends (because he hasn't had enough camping over the past 4 months).
