Day Trip - Bermagui

 

Bermagui is an amazing little town on the south coast. There are lots of places to see and visit while there. It was a bit of a trip up from Eden, an hour and a half and the road isn’t the nicest to drive on. It was worth it for a day trip for us.

First stop was the famous BLUE POOL. It didn’t live up to expectations for me. Some people will disagree and absolutely love the place but for us it wasn’t what we expected.

We headed down to the fisherman’s wharf for lunch. What could be more perfect than fish and chips? Blue wave seafood was super busy and worth the wait. We even got a few calamari as well, because little miss loves them so much. We ate our lunch at the Lions Park. The seagulls swarmed around us and little miss had a great time chasing them away. We had a play at the playground before having ice cream.

Next stop we headed up to the BERMAGUI POINT just around the corner. There were more seals swimming in the water. The rock formations were beautiful and the water looked so inviting. Jamie headed down to the BRUCESTEER OCEAN POOL and I took the short walk to meet him and little miss down there. After a refreshing dip in the ocean, little miss and I walked along the break wall to dry off before getting back in the car. Once little miss was strapped back in I saw some people looking around the fish cleaning station, so I headed over for a look. There were some absolutely massive stingrays swimming around eating all the scraps the fishermen were throwing in the water to them. One fisherman was brave enough to reach into the water and give them a pat.

Before we know it’s time to head back to Eden.

Lessons we learned:

• Day trips are fun
• Bermagui is a great spot
• The blue pool wasn’t what we expected
• The fisherman’s wharf was nice
• Fish and chips by the water is great
• The playground was great to play on
• We had the playground to ourselves
• Ice cream is great
• I love ice cream
• I’m a little addicted to ice cream

• I love lookouts
• They have the best views
• The ocean pools are amazing
• Ocean pools are great on a hot day
• There were so many fish along the break wall
• We dried off quickly walking along the break wall
• I’ve never stingrays as big as these
• There were so many stingrays
