I did have to evict little miss from the wagon when we went down onto the beach and walked along the beach. It was way too much hard work pulling that wagon with her in it. Jamie and little miss were running along the shore line looking for shells, they completely missed the 8 legged starfish that had been washed up.
There is a bit of a climb up to the rock pool so I found some shade under a bit of a rock ledge and enjoyed a bit of time by myself while Jamie and little miss went for a swim in the pool. When they came back Jamie said it might be a bit hard for me to get up to it, and to swim in the ocean instead. I dipped my toes in the waves and it was freezing so I headed for the pool.
Little miss decided she would come back for a swim in the pool again; it would’ve been easier to get up and down without her. She had her swim vest on so I put her in the water and she swam to the little sand island while I went around and hopped in. I chatted to a local lady while little miss swam and built sand castles on the island. After talking with the local lady she told me how to get out, I'm sure she could tell I was trying to figure out how to get out. There are some flat rocks that act a bit like steps to hop out of the pool and then we have to get back down to the beach.
The getting down was much hard than getting up. Especially with little miss dancing around and climbing back up after I put her on the first ledge. She only climbed up because there was a crab in the rock pool next to her, and she was worried it would nip her toes. There was a puddle of water right at the bottom, and for some unknown reason I was trying to jump down and miss the puddle. I did end up getting us both back down, stepping in the puddle. It was amazing how many rock pools around there had 8 legged starfish. I counted at least 20 without trying. They were all different colours it was amazing.
