You can see Lake Curalo from the caravan park. It’s a short
walk along to the boardwalk, which wraps around the lake. I could see just how
strong the winds have been, as many trees had been damaged in the wind. I spent
a long time walking around the lake, stopping to take photos of the many birds.
I even got to some royal spoonbill birds, which is a first for me and I was really glad to be able to capture their photos. There were huge schools of fish swimming through the lake, visible from the edge, and I could see why there were many swans and pelicans happily feeding on the lake.
There are a lot of plovers, a huge flock of them, so care needs to be taken around there. They will swoop you.
