The Tyre Incident

While visiting different sights we decided to go in 2 cars, mainly because we wouldn't all fit in one car. Driving into GREEN CAPE LIGHTHOUSE was a really long 21 km (each way) gravel road. It's apparently not too bad, and there were many regular cars driving in. Our car is the Cookie Monster, built to go off road with all the 4 wheel driving stuff that Jamie decided was necessary (I'm not great with the technical 4 wheel drive stuff). My sister's and her fiance's car is a SUV designed for driving on the road.

When we pulled up at BOYD'S TOWER the Cookie Monster arrived first. As little miss was asleep in the car I jumped out when I saw the SUV turn up. As soon as they pulled into the car park next to us there was a loud hissing sound. Sure enough they had punctured a tyre.

While the boys changed the tyre, we went to explore the tower. After we finished and with a spare tire on, they lead the way to BOYDTOWN knowing they couldn't drive as quickly as we could.

They managed to get into the tire place to get the tyre replaced on the morning before they left. If that wasn't bad enough that wasn't the end of their tyre troubles. With the new tire all fitted and their camper trailer all hitched up they headed off home. I get a message within about half an hour of them leaving only to find that one of the camper trailer tyres had burst and they were putting the spare on before heading back to Eden for new tyres on the camper trailer.

Luckily no one was hurt and everything was okay. After the new tyres were fitted and a quick trip to Bega for lunch they were back on the road home.

Talk about a little drama for the day.
