Poppy paTROLL

We had been having some issues with our tow vehicle, and while we were back in Sydney staying with family we decided it was the perfect opportunity to sort things out. We heading off to Nissan to see if we could get it sorted.

While Jamie was trying to get a part for Cookie Monster (his truck) and I was looking at the shiny new cars while we waited. The plan was that if the part wasn’t easily sourced that we would look at buying a new car (practical hey?). Standing next to a brand new Nissan Patrol and it felt huge. Absolutely massive. Little miss thought it was hilarious to climb through the car, especially to sit in the very back row. The sales guy was really nice and very helpful. Jamie came back to say the part could be ordered, but they weren’t sure when it would arrive with Covid delaying shipments.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like driving such a big car, the only way to know for sure was to take it for a test drive. We had little miss with us, so Jamie stayed behind while I went out for a test drive. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how much I really enjoyed driving this car. It was noticeably larger than I was used to driving, with my current car a Honda CRV, and nowhere near as difficult as I find Cookie Monster to drive.

We arrived back at the dealership and before you know it we’ve signed the paperwork and we get to pick up our new car 3 days later. The plan is to share the new car (selling or trading in the two cars we currently have) but we had to put someone’s plates on the new car, and my last few cars have been silver. My pink plates look nice on silver cars.

Now we had a new car, made for towing, we just needed to name it. Every single car I’ve ever owned has been named. Since meeting me all of Jamie’s car have had names. It’s a tradition that I love to keep going. On the way back from the dealership we tossed around names. Little miss thought the name “Rainbow unicorn sparkle cookie with pink icing” was perfect for our car name.  I didn’t think it would fit nicely on a sticker for the back of the car. Instead after a few minutes of tossing names between us we came up with Poppy paTROLL. Which I have to admit I thought was quite a good name.

Jamie got to put stickers all over his Cookie Monster, now it’s my turn. My first order was from Red Bubble to order a Poppy Troll sticker. I’m so excited to make it our own.

Being on a tight timeline for getting everything ready we were lucky to have the fantastic auto electrician Michael from electroworx come out and install our redarc tow pro elite controller and everything we need for our new CARAVAN. He was so patient explaining everything to me and he did such a fantastic job, I'm so happy with his work. If you're in need of an auto electrician I would highly recommend them!
