To See In NSW - Muttonbird Island

Muttonbird Island has been on the list of places we wanted to visit. With all the recent rain we thought it would be better to wait until it dried out a little. I had read the reviews, and knew that it was a steep so I made sure to wear comfortable shoes (no thongs here). Jamie didn't get the memo and wore thongs. Being such a nice day, it was really busy.

It took a little while for us to get a carpark, but it was worth it. We walked along the breakwall and then made our way up the very steep path to the platform at the top. There was a perfectly positioned bench part way up, and I have to admit with how steep the hill was I was tempted to sit and rest for a few minutes. Instead I headed to the top, having that goal right in front of us made it easier to keep on going.

It was a welcomed break getting to the top and we stopped and had a rest while having a snack. The view from the top was spectacular. Definitely worth the walk to the top. We followed the path along and it wound along the top before starting to head down the other side. We decided against following it all the way to the bottom only making it half way down. It was mainly because the path got quite steep and I was worried about little miss making it back up.

We made our way back down to the bottom, being careful not to run down the very steep path (little miss didn't get the memo). Little miss ended up stacking it almost at the bottom. There was blood and everything. Jamie carried her to the bottom, which was lucky as we still have a steep bit to navigate and it wasn't easy with carrying her.
