Week 30 Recap

We started off we an eventful Monday (if you missed Week 29 recap). Last night on the way back from looking at the caravan I ran over something on the road, luckily it was just around the corner from Nanna’s house. Unlucky for me it was 2 screws. 1 we saw last night, pulled it out and marked the tyre. The other one was on the other side of tyre so we didn’t see it. My tyre didn’t deflate over night but as soon as we started driving again we could hear the funny noise like last night so off to the tyre place around the corner. An hour later and we’re on our way again with a fixed tyre. We were going to go to Nonno’s house but Jamie wanted to go to Nissan first to source a part for Cookie Monster. The plan was he would go to the service department to see if he could order the part and I would look at the shiny new cars. As if like magic we ended up buying Poppy paTROLL.

With the excitement of picking up our new car in a couple of days we decided to take a trip to NOWRA to have a look at caravans. It was a long drive but completely worthwhile. Meant to be. So within 3 days we had our new home and new car lined up, our camper trailer was up for sale and we had a lot of interested buyers it was crazy.

Picking up Poppy paTROLL was really exciting. The salesman at the dealership was really patient explaining all the buttons and how to work everything. I’m sure he got a bit of a giggle when explaining the 4 wheel drive buttons to me and I’m saying there’s no way I was doing any of that. On the way back from picking up Poppy paTROLL I decided we needed a celebration cake for afternoon tea, to celebrate picking up our new car.

A quick stop past The Cake Merchant and I grabbed a half a cake of the most delicious Ricotta Almond New York Cheesecake. When I turned up back at Nonno’s house with the cheesecake in hand little miss was excited. Not only did we have a new car for her to climb through while we put her car seat in the car but we also had cake. It was delicious.

Jamie had the plan to go away camping with his friends, and lucky he could take Poppy PaTROLL to get a chance to test it out. He went off for a boys weekend and little miss and I had a quiet girls weekend with Nanna. Once again I didn’t have a car to drive, but we made do with walking and going in Nanna’s car when it wasn’t within walking distance. We picked up little miss’s bike from Nonno’s house so she could take it for a ride. Little miss had heaps of fun riding her bike, and she even saw a little girl she had made friends with 6 months ago at the local playground.

Before we knew it Jamie was back with tales from his camping trip. It always makes our trips look a lot more like glamping than camping. He always has stories to tell and photos to how me, and I have to admit I really did miss him. We have really been sharing the parenting duties a lot and I realise while he was away how much I missed having that help. It really made me appreciate how nice it is to have someone to share this with.
