I thought it might be helpful for some of you to know a bit more about the break down of our road trip.. So here it is..
Number of days away: 7
Number of nights staying with family: 2
Number of nights in accommodation: 4
Total $ for accommodation: $595.20 (about $148 per night)
Number of Km driven: 2591
Total fuel cost: $350
Number of hours singing along to The Greatest Showman: 19 hours
Number of songs other than Greatest Showman I could play: 1 (cover me in sunshine)
Number of times Little miss came with me for sunrise: 2
Number of times in the future that I want to take Little miss for sunrise: 0 (she's been fired)
Number of dirt roads: 1 (but I drove it 5 times there and back)
Number of tunnels we drove through: 2 (south bound Northconnex is what we call the party tunnel)
Total groceries: $60
Total take away or meals out: $120
Number of weddings attended: 1
Number of completely cute donkeys that I wanted to take home: 3 (but I'd settle for 1)
Number of horse drawn carriage rides: 2
Number of Car dance parties: 2
Total number of hours driving: 19.5 hours
Our accommodation costs were a lot more than we normally would pay, we're used to paying about $50 a night (up to $85 per night in peak season). We were staying in some very nice accommodation, the apartments had a washing machine and dryer and I definitely made sure to use them. We also spent a lot more of takeaway or meals out. Mainly out of convenience than any other reason.
