Week 35 Recap

We started out the week with such wet weather that another PJ day and movie day was in order (if you missed Week 34 recap). I don't feel too guilty having a few days on slacking off watching movies, mainly because we don't do it very often.

After so many days of being cooped up inside the caravan and the rain easing we had to get out.  Little miss was getting stir crazy but I think I was getting a little cabin fever myself. The rain wasn't gone, but it had slowed down so off we went to head to the COFFS HARBOUR AQUATIC CENTRE. We were going to get wet anyway, so may as well swim in an indoor heated pool.

After our swim we went for a wander around the mall. I had to get my phone screen repaired (don't even ask) so as a treat for being so patient we got ice cream in the food court. Check out the flavours we tried ICE  CREAM AROUND AUSTRALIA. After the mall we headed to the bowling alley for little miss to have a go. BOWLING with a 4 year old was an interesting outing, I'm so glad we only planned for 1 game.

After a busy day out and about I put our dinner in the camp kitchen oven (the only thing I miss). There were some ladies learning how to play canasta. It reminded me of how long it's been since I played canasta, and a game Jamie and I could play together.

I was up early for a sunrise, finally a day with no clouds. It was misty, which made for fabulous photos. I headed up to BONVILLE HEADLAND. With all the wet weather we had so much washing to do. I was the first one putting washing on, but sure enough everyone had all their windows open and washing hung out. We had a great play at the playground, it was so much fun being able to get out of the van and run around a bit. There was so much to do, after being cooped up so much. We pulled out the chalk and a bucket of water with the paint brushes. It kept little miss entertained for ages before a swim in the pool.

We pulled out a card game, stuff happens. It was funny playing it and because Jamie didn't quite get it straight away it gave me the edge. I won 3 games to 2. Jamie loves games, and finds a way to win. It ends up not much fun for me. This game is all about luck of the draw of cards, which evens the playing field.

While little miss was at preschool we took the time to go shopping without her. This did also including shopping for a toilet additive, not the funnest job but a necessary one. I will one day find a product that I like, or can at least tolerate.

I decided to try and mix up my sunrise photo locations and ended up on SAWTELL BEACH. It was really busy at sunrise at BONVILLE HEADLAND, so nice to wander the beach a little by myself. While little miss was at preschool, we had some magical creatures move in. Little miss has a little rose that her FAIRIES lived in, but now they have their very own door. Complete with mailbox to write letters to. I loved that it took little miss a while to notice the door on the wall. She was so excited that they have a little door. She spent so much time opening and closing the door and peeking inside.

We had a little end of week party, little miss kept telling us it was her birthday and we were having a party for her. We went for a ride to the park, we were going to play on the oval but it was still quite soggy. Just as we were heading back there were some other kids just arriving at the playground. There was no way I was going to get little miss away from the playground without a fight, and to be honest I was just happy to be outside again.

I have to say getting up early for all these sunrise photos has been easier. I headed up to BOAMBEE LOOKOUT for sunrise. There was a pod of dolphins riding the waves and jumping out of the waves. It made up for the sunrise being blocked by all the clouds.

After breakfast we headed off to MUTTONBIRD ISLAND. This is definitely a comfortable shoe type of activity. The hill was steeper than I expected. We had a lovely lunch at the fisherman's co-op before having ice cream and watching the water dragons running by the rock wall. We had a quiet afternoon and we took the craft box outside and Little miss made friends with the little girl next door.  They played for ages, painting, making kites, maps and treasure. My favourite part was seeing little miss making friends with other children.

Last day of the week and I was crazy enough to attempt MUTTONBIRD ISLAND at sunrise. And proud enough to say that I made it to the top and to the other side. What a day to watch the sunrise on top of Muttonbird Island. It was an absolute cracker. On my way back for breakfast I noticed the markets setting up. Little miss and I had a great time exploring the MARKETS
