Week 36 Recap

I was running on a high after the spectacular photos (if I do say so myself) I had taken at MUTTONBIRD ISLAND (if you missed Week 35 recap). But wanting some variety I headed to COFFS SOUTHERN BREAKWALL for sunrise photos. Not the sunrise photo shoot that I was expecting and clumsy me dropping something as I climbed down. The moon was huge as well, it was beautiful watching it.

We decided to go for a swim, before heading to the beach. We headed to BONVILLE CREEK and we had our own private beach. We did go further up to the top pathway to the beach, I love the little coves along there that gives you to impression of not having to share the beach with anyone. Little miss pretended to be fixing potholes, after all the rain there are so many pot holes so it was funny to watch her fixing them.

Of course I didn't take my camera and there were so many birds and eagles that flew over us and I just couldn't get a good photo with my phone. As we were leaving the beach and coming back up the steps there was a lace monitor at the top. Little miss wasn't scared at all and even tried to go and pat it.

Got up for sunrise and was bitterly disappointed. There were so many clouds and I got a few videos of the clouds and they were moving quickly but not enough to make an actual sunrise photo. It was also freezing cold, well freezing cold for my standards. Little miss had to say goodbye to the little friend she made next door. It's hard for her to understand that we can't keep in contact with every child she makes friends with and that some relationships are short and sweet. This little girl had the most beautiful soul and gave little miss a little treasure to remember her by.

We wrote some letters using the new recycled paper we got from the MARKETS and walked up to the post box to post them.  Little miss kissed each letter before she posted it, talk about sealed with a kiss.  We've been swimming a bit and just about had the pool to our selves. If we didn't have the pool to ourselves to start with we did by the end of it. Not that we spent a long time swimming.

I officially published my first book. I'm super excited about it. It's the ultimate put me outside my comfort zone. I'm also really proud of myself. I'm really happy with how it turned out and really excited to share it with the world. You can get a copy of my book here, there is a range of photo books as well as an ebook.

I took the opportunity while little miss was at preschool and Jamie was out to give the caravan a good clean before heading up to the hair dressers to fix my hair for the wedding. I was in the salon for about 3 hours, its always ends up longer than I expect. I'm really happy with how my hair came out.

I don't get up every day for sunrise. Some days when it's over cast and cloudy I stay in bed. It was sprinkling but I decided to get up after all. I headed down to SAWTELL BEACH and wandered along the beach for sunrise. The beach is my happy place and I find a lot of peace wandering early in the morning.

We went and visited some friends, for Good Friday. Little miss decorated some cookies to take with us. She spent so much time decorating them, and was really proud of herself when she was finished. The girls all get along so wonderfully it's such a pleasure to see them. The boys played with the cars out the front. The kids played together and I got to have a bit of mum time talking to another mum. Sometimes having another mum to talk to can really help.

With the Easter holiday comes lots of people. The caravan park filled up very quickly. Unfortunately for us we were very close to the amenities block and the camp kitchen so a lot more foot traffic in and around our caravan. We had dessert out under the awning, watching the world go by. With more people arriving at the caravan park, there are more kids for little miss to play with. She very quickly made friends with a little girl next door.

Easter Sunday was a morning that I didn't get up for sunrise. Instead I stayed in bed and listened out for when little miss to wake up. It was really noticeable that she was used to me not being there, calling out to Daddy about what the Easter Bunny left for her. She was super excited. One of her presents was a giant box of chalk. We wholeheartedly believe that not all presents at Easter have to be chocolate, she did get plenty of chocolate. We spent a long time drawing on the concrete slab with the new box of chalk. I was pretty impressed we managed to keep the chocolate intake to a minimum on such a chocolate filled day. She had one little egg before breakfast (the only day it's okay in my mind to have chocolate for breakfast) and a little bit for morning tea. I was even more impressed that she ate a proper lunch (parenting win) before we headed back to visit our friends. The boys set up an Easter egg hunt in the park while the girls had a play.

The girls had so much fun searching for Easter eggs and then had a play in the playground. It was hard to drag them away from the playground, even though it was almost dinner time. We hope you had a lovely Easter.
