We started off this week heading back to Coffs Harbour (if you missed Week 37 recap). I felt a bit sorry for Nanna, we had both fallen asleep quite quickly so we weren't good company. After a recap of the wedding and showing Nanna some photos from the Wedding before heading home. The trip home was much quicker and I was glad to be back in my caravan. We had sparklers as a celebration for being home.
I went for an interview for a job, we've stopped for a while so thought we'd take advantage of having the opportunity to work. And best of all I got the job, and started straight away. As a celebration I made a little platter for lunch and we went for a swim in the swimming pool. Taking the rubbish out in the dark, I spotted the cutest possum climbing a tree.
I headed to BOAMBEE LOOKOUT for sunrise. It was amazing watching the New Holland Honeyeaters flying around, as well as a couple of Eagles. I decided that it was time to give Poppy paTROLL a bath. After all those dirt roads, Poppy paTROLL was absolutely filthy. I headed off to the car wash and gave her a really good wash. I even vacuumed out the inside.
I took little miss for a drive and played at a playground before heading for ICE CREAM. When faced with the option to go to an ice cream shop we've visited or one we haven't little miss chose the new one. One of the few times we've shared both ice creams and not been able to decide on a clear winner.
We have a slight issue with little miss hanging in the doorway and letting all the flies inside. I was super proud of myself, I managed to swat it in mid air. I was pretty proud of that. I was lucky enough to be emptying the toilet cassette when a group of young kids walked past and asked what the dump point was. When I explained what it was for they looked extremely grossed out and said that they hoped they never had that job.
I headed off to MUTTONBIRD ISLAND for sunrise. This is the time of year you can sometimes see the shearwater fledglings, there was an awful lot of rustling in the bushes but didn't get to see anything. There was a goshawk hovering above the bushes and I watched it swoop down and try to catch something. A little girl and her dad were watching it too, but I don't think she realised what it was doing. After heading to work I found out the hard way that Poppy paTROLL will not fit through every drive thru. And to top it off, I dropped my phone and cracked the screen after just getting it replaced. I chose to tell Jamie about the car, mainly because I couldn't hide that one. He found out about the phone screen too.
Little miss wrote a letter to her fairies, and the toilet fairy. I don't know who the toilet fairy is, but apparently she needed to write it a letter. It has been a bit of an adjustment with me heading back to work for a bit, for all of us. It's been nice with Jamie being the home husband and me coming home to dinner made for me. This is something I could get us to.
I headed out to SAWTELL BEACH and caught the most amazing sunrise. The clouds of the clouds were absolutely incredible, and they only lasted for a few minutes. I was so glad to be on the beach, this was one incredible sunrise. I got chatting to a lady I met at the headland, that's one of the things I love about going for sunrise you never know who you might meet.
With my first week down at work, and a slight hiccup on the last day, I went for sunrise the next morning and all there was were gray clouds. It reflected my mood perfectly. After the non event of sunrise I headed back to our caravan and hopped back into bed. I decided that the best thing for me was to have a pajama day and we watched movies all day. I definitely felt better after taking it easy for the day.
The rainy weather had passed, and I was up early for sunrise again. This time to South Solitary Islands Viewing Platform. It was absolutely freezing. The wind was so bad that it was knocking my tripod over, so I had to abandon that and settle for holding my phone.
We headed off to the MARKETS for a challenge for little miss. The best part about travelling is learning different things in a different way. We've been doing some talking about money recently, learning about the different values and spending money. I gave little miss a challenge as we drove to the markets, she could decide how much she wanted to spend at the markets and she had to keep within that budget. She could buy whatever she wanted. She decided $5 was a good amount. Walking around the market she was so excited. I suggested having a look at a few different stalls to decide then head back to the ones she wanted to buys something at.
I was really impressed. Little miss chose:
$1 small dream catcher (she's been wanting one for ages)
$3.50 lolly strap
50 cents donated to the Westpac Helicopter
Little miss was really happy with her choices, and had a great time chatting to the volunteer at the Westpac Helicopter stand. He gave her a sticker and a tattoo, and of course we had to put the tattoo on when we got back to our caravan. She wore it proudly, until it rubbed off.
To celebrate her successful shopping trip to the markets we got an ice cream and ate them on JETTY BEACH.
