Day 1 Hastings Point
I was so excited it was finally the day to leave. Little miss even helped by packing her school bag. First stop was New Italy, which was just over half way. We hopped out and had a wander through the museum and grabbed lunch before hitting the road again. I was anxious to get setup before dark. We had plenty of time. Even had time for a play at the playground and exploring the resort. What an amazing resort, set up for families and fun.
We had a quiet evening before heading to bed early. We need our energy for tomorrow.
Day 2 Hastings Point
Today was picture perfect weather and we enjoyed every minute of it. First we headed off to FINGAL HEAD LIGHTHOUSE before having a play on the playground at Fingal Head. Then we headed off to the TWEED MARITIME MUSEUM for a little learning about local history. Lunch we had at NORRIES HEADLAND and a play at the playground, before heading up to the lookout to take in the spectacular views (we even saw Moana's boat). Back to the resort for a play in the pool and splash park. You'd think with all that excitement little miss would be in bed and asleep early, not today. She fought so hard to stay awake but ended up falling asleep to me reading the Naughtiest Girl in the School (by Enid Blyton).

Day 3 Bribie Island
We packed up and little miss was disappointed to not about able to play with her friend one more time before leaving. Crossing the border wasn't quite as exciting as little miss had hoped, and I'm not sure she believed me. With all the roadworks I found it quite stressful navigating past Brisbane, but didn't get lost once. This is my first time driving this far north. We headed past the shops to grab a few things for dinner on our way to the caravan park. Little miss had a complete melt down over choc chip cookies. Safe to say we didn't get choc chip cookies. We headed to the caravan park to set up. I did have a little trouble finding the power pole but got there in the end. After we set up, we headed out to explore. We found a playground with kids to play with. We checked out the beach and headed back to camp for dinner and bed.
Day 4 Bribie Island
We were up early for sunrise at WOORIM BEACH. It was chilly, but little miss insisted on building a sandcastle on the beach. She did also help an older lady up the stairs and chatted away to her for a while before heading back for breakfast. We headed out to the BRIBIE ISLAND SEASIDE MUSEUM and on the way litttle miss saw a playground. After a little play we looked through the museum and grabbed some lunch. By this time the wind was quite strong and felt cool so we enjoyed our fish and chips in the back of Poppy paTROLL enjoying the view of the ocean. I was surprised to see dolphins out the back window so close to shore. I wasn't quick enough to get a photo. I did also watch some Osprey gliding over head in the wind. We headed back for ICE CREAM by the beach. We had a quiet afternoon and a movie night (being a Friday night).

Day 5 Maroochydore
We packed up ready to set off for our next destination. We were packed a little early so we went for one last play at the playground, Bribie Island has so many playgrounds. We did the short drive and arrived in Maroochydore. The first job was to park on our site and go and find Grandma and Poppy. Little miss was super excited. Poppy had a 2 wheeled scooter just for little miss (knowing I couldn't fit her bike in), and after unpacking and setting up (with help from Grandma) we headed off to the playground for a play. We had an early night to bed, Little miss has been super tired and tucked up in bed most nights by 6:30pm.
Day 6 Maroochydore
Talk about an exciting day, the cousins arrived today. Little miss has been looking forward to seeing them again. We went to the COTTON TREE MARKETS in the morning while we waited for them to arrive. Little miss also made friends with some kids in the caravan park. After the cousins were set up we headed down to the Sunshine plaza to grab some groceries and bits and pieces. I can't believe how massive it is now. We grabbed ICE CREAM on the way back. We headed down to the beach for sundowners drinks, before a late night to bed. Dinner was a disaster, and it was lucky we had some leftovers in the freezer.
Day 7 Maroochydore
After attempting to build the gazebo I bought from Kmart yesterday, we returned it today (it had the wrong pieces and couldn't be built). We took the cousins in Poppy paTROLL to go to BCF to see if we could find a different gazebo. We didn't. We headed back for lunch. After lunch we headed down to TIMEZONE where all the kids had an absolute blast playing the games. We had ICE CREAM before heading back. Because it was so late I decided not to go to sundowners today, we had an early night and little miss is tucked up fast asleep in bed.
