I haven't written this post until now, mainly because I'm really sad about it, but we have PAUSED our travels. Jamie went and got himself a fantastic job that he loves and instead of waiting out the wet season and heading north it looks like we will be settling down and staying. Doing normal things like buying a house, having regular jobs, thinking about schooling. All the things I don't want to do right now.
We had the opportunity of a lifetime to go and travel with no restrictions (well other than covid and a wedding) and we have hardly even left the state. I think what upset me the most was we had been planning to head north and see the top end this year and now we miss out on seeing the lot.
Logically Jamie has presented a very good argument for settling down, but anyone who has that gypsy spirit in them will understand just how hard it is to put down roots when you're not ready for it. We have come to a bit of a compromise. Mainly because there is no situation where both of us win.
