The great part about fossicking here, is we didn't even need to leave the park. They give you a couple of sieves, tweezers and your bag of wash. Then you can have all the fun you want using the different stations in the fossicking area. You can also get a fossicking license and hire all the bits you need from the desk. We decided that going out into the wild to look for sapphires wasn't going to be fun with a 4 year old. 

The hard part about fossicking in the park, is if you don't know what you're looking for you will just have a bunch of wet rocks. This wasn't the first time fossicking for sapphires, so we had a bit of an idea of what to look for.
