A new week and a new place to visit (if you missed our Week 12 Recap). Moving day has been Monday the last few weeks, for no particular reason. When you're travelling full time and not needing to be anywhere any time soon it makes it easy. It rained over night, and I was awake from 1.30 am on moving day (I'm a very light sleeper) so it was safe to say I was tired. We had left the walls of the annex on as a bit of extra protection with the rain, so we had a little extra to pack up on moving day. With me being awake so early I made an early start. We left on time (which feels like a great start to the day). We've gone as high up the NSW coastline as we want, it's starting to get hotter so we're heading back to Coffs Harbour (because we love it so much). This time we're staying on the northern end of Coffs Harbour at Corindi Beach Reflections.
As we were travelling I could see on my weather app it was going to be a bit wet and the wind picked up about 10 minutes out from arriving. It was about a 2 hour drive for us today, so a bit more than what we'd done previously. It was dry when we arrived (we were expecting 45 km southerly winds) and we ended up with a perfect spot. Note to future self, if Jamie says lets just wait to set up, it's probably a good idea. It would be no great surprise that we also have THE WET WEATHER INCIDENT.
We had a quiet start to our week (after the drenching we got), heading into Coffs Harbour for a bit of shopping. I've had a lot of problems with my current chair. It's a director type chair, but being on the short side makes it not very comfortable to sit in for more than 5 minutes. When your travelling a comfortable chair is important. We tested out some chairs and I found one made perfectly for short people (yay!), and Jamie picked out a more comfortable chair as well. We decided to order them online and have them delivered to Jamie's parents, that way we can swap over our current chairs when we head through to get some repairs on the camper trailer done.
We did also check our CORINDI BEACH, and saw an amazing sea eagle floating on the breeze. There are some amazing pinky orangey coloured rocks (love them) but it's not a swimming beach. I finally got my hair done (yay!!) it did take almost twice as long as expected so Jamie and little miss got to have some Daddy Daughter fun time at the park and ice creams while I enjoyed the peace and quiet. I loved that the first thing Jamie said when I got back in the car was "oh you're blonde" Little miss thought my hair looked like Else (from frozen) and wanted to know when she can dye her hair like mine.
With the weather being a bit iffy, we kept close to home this week. The caravan park is a dog friendly park, there are heaps of dogs, so plenty of friends for Little miss to make. She loved a little black fluffy dog (I'm not sure of the breed) and they played for ages together. Every time we walked past Buddy's site she had to have a play and was disappointed when they were out. We did make friends with a lovely couple that are chasing fruit picking as they travel. They have been supplying us with a fantastic supply of freshly picked blueberries, absolutely delicious!
We made a trip out to GRAFTON this week as well. We were going to stay in Grafton but with the weather turning bad by the end of the week, I'm glad we decided to just do a day trip. Jamie's reasoning was that we had driven to Yamba and Iluka (which were an hour away from Evans Head) so to drive 40 minutes up the road to Grafton was no big deal.
We finished up the week with a wet and windy day. A thunderstorm was thrown in for good measure. I hate thunderstorms, Little miss and I watched from the camp kitchen in our raincoats. Our raincoats have had a good work out this week!
The only other problem we've had this week is the internet signal is terrible. We've had massive issues with it dropping out in the evenings and the only option being to hot spot off our phones. I know it's a first world problem but it has made posting a lot more difficult.
