I think had to explain that it wasn’t going to be a salty
chicken party but a tea party instead. I think she was a little disappointed
after that.
We got to dress up and head off to The Burbury Hotel for
high tea. It was really lovely. We had our own room, with a beautifully large square
table that we all sat around. Some of the party had champagne, knowing I had to
drive back to Sydney that night and then Coffs the following day I decided it
was safer not to drink. We did try a few different types of teas, my favourite was
Napolean. The cakes and sandwiches looked amazing on the little stands. They
tasted even better. Little miss loved being able to choose different cakes and
snacks. Some she loved and at the lot, others got licked and put down.
It was surprising how filling the cakes were, we all had
left overs. Little was excited to have a little box to take some cakes back to
Nanna’s. They didn’t travel well and were completely smooshed by the time we
got back. They still tasted nice, even if they looked like a disaster.
