Week 39 Recap

This week is a busy week (if you missed Week 38 recap). It started with sunrise photos at BONVILLE HEADLAND before having to duck off to work. It's rather in convenient having to rush off to work rather than easing into the day like we've been used to. When I got home there was an amazing rainbow. We also started planning when we were going to head north.

We'd stopped in Coffs Harbour to work, wait for the wedding and to wait out wet season. The wedding has now been attended. Wet season is still upon us (but will be ending soon). And the work I'm currently doing is casual so I have flexibility in giving notice. My parents are heading north this year, so we decided that when they leave to head to QLD that we would follow them up and spend a bit of time with them before continuing on north for dry season.

I was going to go looking for the beach in Woolgoolga for sunrise, but it was too hard to find in the dark. I ended up at the headland, which was absolutely perfect. The views were amazing and there was a young girl who was also travelling watching the sunrise. I love meeting new people, everyone has their own stories and I love hearing them. There was a little path that I followed and wandered along. The birds were amazing, I could've stayed for hours watching them but I had work to get back for. When I got back to have breakfast Jamie got a phone call about a job he'd applied for. A full time job. With fantastic hours. Great work life balance. I'm guessing you can probably see where this is going.

I get back from work and Jamie's already looking at real estate in the area. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. But I'm also not surprised. Jamie hasn't been overly enthusiastic during our travels so it's not a surprise that he's ready to settle down again. The major dilemma being that I'm not ready to stop travelling. But the solution to our problem will have to wait for another day, I have work to get to and Jamie and little miss have chalk drawings to draw.

I headed off to BOAMBEE LOOKOUT for my last sunrise for the week. Jamie was off to Sydney to visit friends for a long weekend so that means no early sunrise photo shoots on my own. I didn't want to take little miss as my photography assistant, she's terrible so I settled on really enjoying the moment.

Before picking little miss up from preschool I grabbed some groceries at the shops and saw a man playing the didgeridoo. Knowing how curious and interested in Aboriginal culture I thought little miss would love to see someone playing a didgeridoo. I was right, she was absolutely thrilled to meet him and he played especially for us. It made a huge impact on us and a memory that we will cherish for life.

Sure enough one day back at preschool and little miss is sick. A quick trip to get checked out and a little medication and she was doing better. We did take it easy and had a rest day to help encourage her recovery. Luckily it wasn't anything too serious and she responded well to the medication. Although she was feeling much better, I was exhausted after a long night up and down with her. While I rested, Little miss had a great time playing with her crafty stuff having a craftanoon. I should've known she was up to mischief with how quiet she was being. Sure enough she had covered herself head to toe in bright pink texta. I gave her a good shower and scrubbed the texta off, it's still stained her skin and looks like it's well and truly set in. I did the best I could to scrub it off her face. I don't think she'll be doing that again and I certainly hope I don't have to either. Apparently baby wipes are the way to remove texta from skin, but I think it was too late for us.

With little miss just about back to her normal self we headed out to the GRAFTON SHOW. It was a bit of a drive, but completely worth it for us. Little miss had a blast. We headed back home, and had decided that we were going to get an ice cream. We stopped in town and got the biggest ICE CREAM we've ever had. I ended up eating most of them.

The last day of the week was ANZAC Day. We remembered quietly at home watching the services on the TV. We followed it up with a visit to BONVILLE CREEK. It was such a relief for it to be just about back to the usual private beach. There were 2 guys fishing and one had a dog. The dog was a bit over excited and kept running over and annoying us so we decided to go exploring. There was a little path that we have never walk along. We went along that path. Little miss was so excited to be the leader. There were heaps of tree roots so we had to be careful as we walked along the path. The end we came tot he carpark and road for Bonville Creek. It was starting to get cold so we headed for home. Little miss again wanted to be the leader and we sung marching songs a lot of the way back. We arrived back at the caravan just as Jamie was arriving back from Sydney. Little miss was so excited to see him I had to hold her hand really tight until he parked the car.
